Profile: Ryan Green

Biography

Since his first televised competition in 2001, Ryan Green had become a familiar figure on the Canadian Strongman scene. His intense dedication to training was inspirational; his strength and agility nothing short of astonishing.

Ryan had watched televised WSM competitions his whole life, and had dedicated himself towards one main goal - to represent Canada at the World's Strongest Man competition.

Ryan achieved part of his goal, competing at the 2004 IFSA World Cup. This event became the 2004 IFSA World Championship, representing the beginning of the IFSA/WSMSS split.

After 2004, Ryan retired from strength competition, and instead dedicated himself to personal health and fitness goals. In this small segment of society that glories in superhuman achievements and larger-than-life goals, Ryan Green was an outstanding ambassador for the sport, and is sorely missed. We wish Ryan the best for all of his future endeavours.

Stats

Born: 1977
Height: 6'
Weight: 368 lbs

Ryan Green one-hand cleaning and strict pressing the 172-pound, 2.38-inch diameter handled Inch Dumbbell AFTER competing in the 2004 Canada's Strongest Man. This was his fourth rep.

There are still only a small handful of people in the world capable of this feat. Many are unable to even crack the dumbbell off the ground with one hand, due to the thickness of the handle.
