Re: Ontario Strongman Records.

Sick Yoke, Animal.

I remember you training on 450-500 pounds at Brian's somewhere around '05 - '06.

Re: Injury Prevention, Prehab, and Rehab

Dave Elder sent me this link a few days ago, ironically just before Eric assessed Luke with some similar issues. Some of it we already knew, but still a very comprehensive preventative approach to healthy shoulders from a perspective that most people overlook. Thanks, Dave. http://www.t-nation.com/f...

Re: Ontario Strongman Records.

Yeah, not too shabby, Travis, considering Kaz missed a 175 kg (385-ish) log trying to beat Jamie Reeves' 170 at the '89 WSM, and I think Jon Pal missed 160. And yes, I think we can safely say you were one of the best stone lifters ever. I would also nominate you (for whatever my opinion's worth) as ...

Re: Injury Prevention, Prehab, and Rehab

Always ice a muscle in a stretched position. Never did this until my physio guy told me to, but it makes sense. Cold elastics snap when you stretch them.

Re: Ontario Strongman Records.

This isn't a record per se, and neither is most of what I said above, but the craziest conditioning and recovery I've ever seen in this sport belonged hands down to Steve Stackpole. Great guy, a great Dad, and an absolute Met-Con machine. Read his blog sometime, particularly before he retired, and t...

Re: Ontario Strongman Records.

Funniest guy on the forum: Maybe Brent Chiccicincincinciiiicnini, AKA The Pied Piper of Poon. I cry every time this guy opens his mouth. Most longwinded: Probably me. Only 2 guys to ever load the EOSS "Egg": Paul and Luke. Paul lapped it at about 230 pounds (retarded) at the Power of Dads around 200...

Re: Tricep Troubles.

Hey Ben. I have no idea what's happening with your arm, but I would get to a good physio center ASAP. This "is this something i push through?" is always a bad idea in my opinion. There's probably lots you can do to work around it until you figure out what's going on and how to fix it. I never comple...

Re: Videos Thread

Yeah, I've also heard it played on electric guitar, but I like the violin version from Mohicans the best. I'm gonna shut up before someone starts to think I have culture.

Great pep talk, but I still think he needs a hug or something.

Re: Videos Thread

That's "The Gael" playing in the background, one of my favourite pieces of music. Too bad that guy in the clip won't shut the fuck up and let someone hear it.

Re: Injury Prevention, Prehab, and Rehab

“My basic recipe is foam or pipe, lax, golf, or baseball, dynamic mobility, prehab/rehab (including band traction, TKE's, cuffs/lower trap-type stuff, etc.), self ART if necessary, explosive work, workout, stretch, inversion table if needed.” I accidentally forgot to mention something I came up with...

Re: Injury Prevention, Prehab, and Rehab

I can only tell you the little bit I know about this area, Rich. Amazingly, aside from being impaled once on a fencepost and needing 66 stiches to put the muscle, fascia, and skin back together, I haven't really had any problems there. When you stretch is important. My basic recipe is foam or pipe, ...

Re: Injury Prevention, Prehab, and Rehab

Wow, that's a stretch. Maybe "Oh not as dumb as you used to be because you banged the supreme piss out of your body being a fucking idiot your whole life and learned some obvious shit the hard way" one would be closer. What about them? They're right under your ass. I'm no expert at anything Rich. I'...

Re: Injury Prevention, Prehab, and Rehab

If I want to feel serene, I get a blowjob. That usually relaxes me pretty good afterwards.

Re: Injury Prevention, Prehab, and Rehab

Absolutely, Darren, and thanks again for those. This brings up what should be an even more obvious proactive health issue, and one that I have honestly been trying to avoid addressing because it questions even further my sexual orientation, and that is dedicated stretching. Some of you may be aware ...
