Thanks Paul, but don't say that! ;) It's better technique, that's all. Start push-presses, oly lifting and you'll see where that will bring you. Can you believe 2 years ago log was my worst event? Well, I could not press 225 because I had no techinque: I was trying to use all arms, no legs.

That's why I gave that tip to Luke: he's new at this and very strong, imagine with a bit of technique :D

Train hard and train smart!

Thanks buddy, thats actually my max for a single with the log right now (225) I just cant seem to get the 230 to lockout. I tried to get under it and I tweeked my knee pretty good, its been a pain in the ass ever since and thats a couple months now. i guess I just need to find someone to teach me better technique in the Niagara area :(

Get to North Buffalo Fitness (Delaware Ave) some Sat at noon. Glenn Kaifas (LW Pro) and Mike Gill (top HW Am) will help you out.

Vids

Thanks guys,

Ya, those strap pushups are awesome, esp for scapular stability and rotator cuff strength. I also wear a sandbag backpack for them.

The bar was touching down too low. It has to hit no lower than the bottom of the sternum.
I was about 1-1/2" below that point.

It's hard to tell on the vid, but the judges were really sharp. They were strict but fair.

I'd blame the groove on the bench shirt, if I were you :P
