Congrats Torey! Your true passion for the sport will show at this competition.
Novice/Intermediate Athletes - Sign the fuck up! This will not a be a shit show. Paul as head judge, Hugo as emcee... you'll be walking away with a t-shirt and supplements PLUS be competing in front of a great crowd.
Don't forget to stop by the CYGEN Labs booth!! Unrelated to Torey's post but just a reminder

Hey guys- long time no post. I'm here today for one reason- to call out all you losers out there who haven't signed up for this contest. If you aren't a top-10 guy in Ontario (and stop living in a fantasy world, be honest with where you're at), then you need to get your shit together and sign up for this show. If you don't, I'll assume it's because you're afraid that a smeagol little 180-pounder like myself will make you look like a fool in front of a large crowd of strangers, who will unquestionably point and laugh at your relative weakness (please note: the crowd will not laugh- they will be impressed if you lift anything over 100 lbs- people have no idea. I will, however, point and laugh at you when I beat you).
Check your pride at the door and sign your ass up for this comp. It's a great venue to showcase your strength and we have some of the top guys in Canada promoting and running the show.
Consider yourselves called-out.

Can you post a list of confirmed athletes so far?
Re: Toronto Pro Super Show Amateur/Intermediate Strongman

1. If you're not competing in it then don't worry about it
2. If you are then enjoy the straps, it's all about the "show" for the crowd
3. Run your own show and have whatever rules you'd like
4. Have a nice day

Re: Toronto Pro Super Show Amateur/Intermediate Strongman
It's a challenge with straps, at least I find it is. It's not at all the same as strapping onto a normal barbell and presents a much bigger grip challenge. The bar is already somewhere near 2" and then you are adding even more to it with the straps. It's not something that's easy to get comfortable with and it strains the hands pretty hard. If you haven't tried it already give it a go and see if you still feel the same about it after. Like anything I'm sure its different for everybody.
