Re: Aug 17th Woodstock
sounds awesome, I'll be there unless I get a job and have to move out of province.
Sure its cool to do a pullup but I will take a big deadlift over it any day.
Re: Aug 17th Woodstock
Can you be a bit clearer on the deadlift? Is it a rising bar format where everybody starts at the same weight and does every attempt until they're out or is it where you choose three different weights to attempt like in powerlifting?

Re: Aug 17th Woodstock
It's rising bar but you only get three attempts. Once you miss or have done your 3 lifts you are done deadlifting.

Re: Aug 17th Woodstock
Andy I was wondering if the two axle events for the men were going to have tires or just plates and if it's tires what kind of rules will we be working with on the axle cleans? Like will you be enforcing a deadstop at the bottom or just anything goes with bouncing? Personally I hate the trick bouncing stuff and would prefer to see just plates on the bar.
And YES everyone, I KNOW I have to show up strong and athletic and ready for anything and bla bla bla bla bla so no need for the Elite Question asking Swat Team to show up to let me know that I shouldn't be asking questions about event details or write me a ticket or anything.

Re: Aug 17th Woodstock
The mens axel has tires its a max dead so the bounce will not help that much. For the press you only need to clean once then press for reps

Re: Aug 17th Woodstock
Axle for men is a solid 2" bar mounted on tires. approx 13" pick. Most of the air has been let out so there is some sag when adding weight for pulling. It is NON rotating. Much tougher, but makes for more fun!
I would suggest practicing your cleans as regardless of format I'm sure most will be setting the bar down to catch their breath before drilling some more reps.

Re: Aug 17th Woodstock
Only 1 Clean and then press for reps? I thought it said "clean each rep and press". Cleaning AND pressing every rep is what I'm good at. That's more of a strongman event and just the pressing IMHO. Disappointed. No way to change it back? I'll be there and enthusiastic either way.
