Profile: Murray Anderson
Biography
Murray's grandfather was his greatest influence, always preaching to him about the importance of being strong, fit and healthy. In fact, he gave him his first set of weights when he was 5 years old and the rest is history.
As a teenager and into his early twenties, Murray enjoyed competing in powerlifting competitions. Murray has always had an interest in strongman contests and enjoyed watching Bill Kazmaier and Magnus Ver Magnusson take their bodies to the limit. Since his first Strongman contest in 2005, Murray has grown to love the sport and has come to understand the true meaning of pain. Murray feels competing against and training with other great strongman athletes across Canada is a privilege and an honour.
